Citizens Information Supporting and Improving Quality of Life

Dublin North Bay Citizens Information Service

An information service has been provided at KARE since the 1960s. The service - which is now known as Dublin North Bay CIS - provides a free, confidential and impartial information service for the people of Kilbarrack, Raheny, Dollymount, Clontarf, Marino, Killester, Artane, Edenmore and Balgriffin. The CIS provides information and advice on a broad range of social rights and entitlements, stocks information materials and application forms and assists with form-filling, appeals and referrals. Our offices are fully accessible and all are invited to avail of our drop-in services. The information office at KARE is open Monday to Thursday 9.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m, Friday 9.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. A Free Legal Advice clinic (provided by FLAC) is held every Monday. Please note that this service is by appointment only. The CIS is also currently developing a number of outreach services. CIS staff are also happy to undertake presentations on social welfare issues on request.

The CIS also deals with telephone queries, call (01) 805 8439, and with e.mail information requests at kare@citinfo.ie. CIS services are provided by paid staff supported by a team of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with the CIS please contact the Development Manager. Please note that apart from the services provided by Dublin North Bay CIS, people may avail of information services provided by the Citizens Information Board: www.citizensinformation.ie, Lo-Call 1890 777121.
