KARE Home Help Service assists elderly people to remain at home as independently and as safely as possible by providing home supports such as assistance with personal care, shopping, light housework and meal preparation.
The home help service also provides respite visits to help family carers.
The Home Help Service is funded by the Health Service Executive, Client Contributions and Donations.
Referrals for the Home Help Service come from health professionals, families, neighbours and self referral. All referrals are assessed by KARE staff to determine need and the level of care required.
Following assessment, a care plan is put in place to reflect each individual's needs and circumstances. This care plan is reviewed on a regular basis or when necessary.
In exceptional circumstances KARE may help families in crisis or those with special needs. KARE provides a Home Help Service in the areas of Killester, Artane, Raheny, Edenmore and parts of Coolock adjacent to these areas in North Dublin.
